How long does a typical session last?
Session lengths vary by package. The Keepsake Session is 30 minutesâ€â€ÂÂÂperfect for quick family portraits. The Heirloom Session runs 60–90 minutes, giving us time to explore multiple locations and capture a wider variety of moments. Senior sessions are typically 60 minutes with outfit changes included.
When will I receive my photos?
Your private online gallery will be ready within 2–3 weeks of your session. Each image is carefully edited to ensure beautiful, consistent, and timeless results. You'll receive an email with a link to view, download, and share your high-resolution images.
Where do sessions take place?
I photograph on location throughout Mason, MI, and the greater Lansing area. Popular spots include local parks, farms, downtown Mason, and natural wooded areas. During our consultation we'll discuss locations that match your visionâ€â€ÂÂÂwhether you want golden-hour fields, rustic backdrops, or your own backyard!
What should we wear?
Choose outfits that coordinate without being too "matchy-matchy." Soft, neutral tones and earthy colors photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your faces. Avoid large logos or busy patterns. After booking, I'll send you a detailed style guide with tips, color palettes, and outfit inspiration to help you feel confident and camera-ready.
What if we need to reschedule due to weather?
Michigan weather can be unpredictable! If rain or severe weather is forecast, I'll reach out 24–48 hours in advance to reschedule at no extra cost. Overcast skies, on the other hand, often create the most flattering, even lightingâ€â€ÂÂÂso a cloudy day can actually be a bonus.
Can I order prints or albums?
Absolutely! Your online gallery includes an integrated print shop where you can order professional-quality prints, canvases, and heirloom albums shipped directly to your door. All packages include a print release, so you're also free to print anywhere you choose.
Do you photograph events like birthdays or reunions?
Yes! While family and senior portraits are my specialty, I'm happy to discuss milestone events, extended-family reunions, and other celebrations. Reach out through the contact form with details, and I'll put together a custom quote for your event.
What is your cancellation or refund policy?
A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your date. If you need to cancel for any reason, I'll work with you to reschedule within 6 months.
